Hello! I'm sorry about posting this late! This start of the semester has been a bit rocky for me... Some points that I've gathered from The Aeneid is that there is a difference between the Greek gods and the Roman gods. They carry similar traits and roles like in the Iliad, yet there is a difference. Virgil gives a more mature feel to the gods, contrary from Homer. They seem to be more in control of the matters at hand. However, they seem to be a little too much in control of Aeneas' fate. Because of this, Aeneas seems to be going a long with the flow, rather than making his own decisions.

The Greek and Roman gods definitely do have their similarities and differences. I actually find it entertaining to compare the too. I feel like in a lot of these stories they're not even so much about the "Heroes", but about the deranged morals of the gods and how they get to play puppet with mortals. Would Aeneas have the strength to fulfill his own destiny? Is him doing anything even necessary or is it just for the entertainment of the gods?
