"When, O Catiline, do you mean to cease abusing our patience? How long is that madness of yours still to mock us? When is there to be an end of that unbridled audacity of yours, swaggering about as it does now?" Cicero's first and most famous part of a speech addressing Catiline about his wrongdoings. Here we can see what Cicero thought of Catiline, and how he is, essentially, urging Catiline to stop his plans and conspiracy, because everyone's already aware of it. What I find interesting here is that despite Cicero's many warnings and chances for Catiline to redeem himself, Catiline ignores and disregards Cicero. Perhaps he knows that he's in too deep and that even if he wanted to. The fact that he was running for consulship means power in the Republic. He had plotted for murder and got false votes, essentially showing that he is not fit to be a leader in any form. He couldn't turn back, not while he still had his pride.
