In The Story of Elder Tarquin, It appeared that Tanaquil was behind Lucumo's rise to power. It was as if she was replaced by the gods, recommending Lucumo where to go and what to do. I'd say she's by far the most leading and "important" if you will female character (aside from the gods, of course) that I've seen so far, despite the story being rather shout. I found this to be rather striking, an interesting change from the beginning stories.

It definitely differs from the others. Definitely not as dark as some. Tanaquil is kind of a role model in the sense that she just wanted her for husband Lucumo to be respected. Not at all for her benefit, but purely for his happiness. That is definitely a great gift to only want happiness for someone else.
